Concept 1: Punctuation

Punctuation is the most important concept tested in the SAT and ACT because it is tested most often.

Punctuation refers to using different marks, such as a period, comma, and colon, to clarify meaning and provide better communication. In other words, punctuation is used to make the meaning of sentences clearer.

Since its first usage, the English language has evolved, and punctuation is no exception.

Studying punctuation is difficult because each punctuation mark has numerous usages.

Also, because some writers deliberately break or manipulate punctuation rules to create a specific mood or emphasize certain ideas, punctuation can be confusing.

But don’t worry.

The SAT is a standardized test, following set rules, and this site will teach you everything you need to know about SAT and ACT Punctuation.
